With a string of releases and huge performances across 2019, this really has been Jay’s year. His ‘Finding Our Way’ EP was a sure fire success with over 11 million streams on ‘Make Luv’ and almost 10 million on ‘So What’. Releases aside, his shows have been strong with Jay taking to the main stage of Balaton Sound in Hungary, headliner at Ministry Of Sound and shared the top billing on the Matoma tour.
With this momentous rise, he returns to release heartfelt production ‘By Now’, co-written with vocalist Sakima and Josh Wilkinson, who has previously worked with Tiesto, Mabel and Galantis. The track is very personal to Jay and a product of unravelling Jay’s then clouded mind. The trio are good friends each with their own impressive musical skills which enabled Jay to portray the feelings and emotions when producing the song. ‘By Now’ is UK house crossed over with dance-pop, suitable for the radio, dancefloor and streaming site a like.
"I wrote this song with some of my favourite people; Sakima & Josh Wilkinson. I remember heading into the session with a lot on my mind. I was seeing a girl that I’ve been close friends with since I was 10 years old. I’m not sure how long it took (probably not long), but I remember just blurting out everything that was going on in my head, all of my thoughts and insecurities surrounding this relationship. This song paints a perfect picture of what was going on in my mind. It’s not meant to be clear, it’s meant to be a cluster of feelings and emotions.
